Line 807 to the Elafiti runs four times a day from Monday to Saturday and twice on Sundays and public holidays. Croatia does not move its holidays to the nearest Monday, so a midweek one halves your boat that day. Rates are the booking engine’s job.
A week in Dubrovnik is not seven identical days
The accommodation decision in Dubrovnik is usually framed as a place: walls, Lapad, or one of the islands. Framed that way it hides the thing that actually shapes the week, which is that the state passenger service to Koločep, Lopud and Šipan runs a different timetable on some days than on others, and the days it thins out are not always the days you expect.
Line 807 is a Jadrolinija passenger ship and a resident commuter service before it is anything else. Four sailings a day in each direction, Monday to Saturday. Two on Sundays and public holidays. That is the entire published pattern, and it is worth planning around because it is the cheapest sea access in Croatia.
| What you want that day | Sailings you need | Monday to Saturday | Sunday or a public holiday |
|---|---|---|---|
| An island morning, back for lunch | Two sailings a few hours apart | Four each way. Comfortable. | Two each way. The gap is most of the day, so the morning becomes a full day. |
| A whole day on Lopud or Šipan | One out, one back | Four each way, so you choose the shape of the day. | Two each way, and the shape of the day is chosen for you. |
| Dinner in the old town from an island bed | A late return sailing | Last from Dubrovnik at 20:00. | 20:00, rising to 21:00 only in high season. |
| An early start on the mainland from Šipan | A dawn departure | First out of Suđurađ at 06:00. | Two sailings in each direction, so less of the morning is on offer. |
There is one further wrinkle inside the Monday-to-Saturday column, and it is the sort of detail that quietly ruins an afternoon: the 15:20 sailing does not call at Lopud. Three of the four departures serve all three islands and one does not. If Lopud is the plan, that is the departure to avoid.

sailings each way on line 807 on Sundays and public holidays, against four Monday to Saturday
Two is not nothing — it is one comfortable round trip, and for a lot of visitors a whole day on Lopud with no way of leaving early is the best day of the week. The failure mode is not the two sailings. It is discovering them at 11:00 on the quay with a plan built for four.
Putting the island day on a public holiday
Croatia does not move public holidays to the nearest Monday. A holiday that falls on a Wednesday stays on the Wednesday, and line 807 runs its Sunday timetable that day: two sailings each way instead of four, on a date that looks like an ordinary midweek morning on every calendar you own.
This catches people twice over, because a public holiday is also the day the old town is at its fullest. Check the Croatian holiday dates against your week before you fix which day is the island day, and if one of them lands midweek, treat that day as a Sunday in every plan you make.
What the fares do to the arithmetic
The Elafiti crossing is a public tariff, not an excursion price: €3.40 off-season and €5.40 in season to any of the three islands, with a children’s fare of €1.80 to Koločep that does not change with the season at all. The seasonal uplift falls on adults only.
That matters more than it sounds. It means a family of four repeating the crossing three times in a week is spending a trivial amount on transport, and the constraint on how often you go is purely the timetable. Where the timetable is generous, go often. Where it halves, go once and stay all day.
Common questions
How many boats a day go to the Elafiti from Dubrovnik?
Line 807 runs four sailings each way Monday to Saturday and two on Sundays and public holidays. Line 831 is a car ferry on the same islands and is the only vehicle service calling at Dubrovnik; its per-line timetable is not in the bundle we hold, so we do not publish its times.
What is the last boat back to Dubrovnik?
The last departure from Dubrovnik is 20:00, rising to 21:00 on Sundays in high season. There is no later state sailing, which is the single fact that decides whether an island base works for how you like to eat.
Does a public holiday really change the timetable?
Yes. Line 807 runs its Sunday pattern on public holidays, and Croatia does not shift holidays to the nearest Monday, so a midweek holiday is a two-sailing day.
Is any of this different in winter?
The 807 pattern of four and two holds year-round. What changes is the fare, which drops to the off-season tariff from 28 September to 28 May, and the commercial catamarans on the Split chain, which stop altogether.
One thing this page deliberately does not do. It carries no room rate, no star rating, no photograph and no description of the property, because we hold none of that and the register we do hold says nothing about buildings. Rates, availability and what the rooms are like are the booking engine’s job and it does that job well. What no booking engine tells you is which boats exist on the dates you are about to confirm, and that is the whole of this page.
